4 fun things to do in sydney during Mardi Gras
Each year, thousands of people come to Sydney for Australia’s largest pride festival. While many assume it’s all about the Mardi Gras parade, there are plenty of events and fun things to do throughout the festival fortnight.
FAIR DAY | 19TH FEBRUARY
If live music and picnic blankets are your scene, Fair Day might be for you. Over 80,000 people attend this free event which is open to everyone and filled with hundreds of stalls and plenty of live entertainment. This year, Fair Day will be held at Camperdown Memorial Rest Park from 10am.
MARDI GRAS FILM FESTIVAL | 15TH FEB – 2ND MARCH
If all the movies out now seem a little cookie cutter, the diversity of the Mardi Gras Film Festival will be a welcome change. Now in its 24th year, the festival will featured almost 100 screenings across Sydney, Canberra and regional NSW.
LITTLE BLACK DRESS RUN | 26TH FEBRUARY
This fun run around Centennial Park supports a great cause in the Twenty10 Association who provide counselling for LGBT youth. You can register and donate here.
HEAPS GAY PARDI GRAS | 4TH MARCH
The Inner West is one of the most diverse and LGBT-friendly places in Australia, so what better way to celebrate Gay Christmas than Heaps Gay’s Pardi Gras party in Marrickville?
WE HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL MARDI GRAS!
