About Credit Savvy

Who is Credit Savvy?

Credit Savvy is a free, consumer initiative.

We set up Credit Savvy because we're committed to helping Australians make savvy financial decisions by understanding their credit reputation and how credit works. We believe that everyone should know their credit reputation and how it affects them, as this information is already held and used by lenders today.

Through Credit Savvy we'll empower you with your Experian credit score, a Credit Report Card, and the resources you need to make sense of them both. We'll also give you tips and tools on how to manage your score and improve it over time. It doesn't matter if your score is high or low - we can help you.

Credit Savvy is backed by Aussie, who have always challenged the status quo to put the power back in the consumers' hands and help them get a better deal.

How we came to be savvy...

We noticed a lot of confusion around credit in Australia. Credit scores, credit files and credit reports were mentioned but not understood, and no one was doing very much to make it any easier.

We also noticed that people were being charged to find out their own credit scores and credit reports, and that made no sense at all to us.

So we decided to do something about it. To make credit easy to understand. To debunk the myths. To give control back to the people. And to give them all of this... absolutely free.

We'll be working with Experian, who are world leaders in credit services. And we're local, so we know what's what right here. You're in safe hands.

What it means to be savvy...

Your credit score is a numerical representation of how you're viewed from a financial point of view. It can help a bank decide whether or not you're a good candidate for a home loan, for example, or how much your credit card limit should be.

So, the first thing you need to do is find out your score.

You may not know this, but that information may well already exist. We'll help get it for you, for free.

Once you know your score, you can improve and protect your credit reputation. We'll help you with that, too.

We'll provide monthly score updates so you can see how you're tracking.

We can provide credit alerts to show you who is accessing your credit history - that keeps you in the loop, and also alerts you to activity you haven't authorised.

With Credit Savvy, you'll get free access to all of our tools and resources, including hints and tips, calculators, expert commentary and Savvy Offers.
